ARIS stands for "Augmented Reality and Interactive Storytelling." It began as a prototyping tool for game-based learning and has evolved into an open-ended and accessible tool for sharing stories.

 

Developers have borrowed from the Minimal Viable Products (MVP) approach of releasing early and often to encourage feedback on minimal but growing set of features that can further prioritize development.
