Game Jam (suggested time: Wednesday-Friday)

Your game will be a prototype rather than a finished product. Your goal is experience how to create a scene, add game objects and add triggers.

  • watch the tutorial video below to get started on the browser-based editor

  • create a game in the ARIS editor that uses no more than 3 game objects (items, plaques, conversations, URLs). Use a single scene and do not attempt quests at this point.

  • test your game on an iPhone or iPad regularly

  • post the searchable name of your game along with single sentence description under the Activity 3 post on the 522 Wordpress site.

Suggested investment of time for this activity: 30 minutes to one hour. Your goal is to experience the process of making a game, not producing a finished product.

Before your classmates can search for you game, you must publish it from the settings game) tab on menu bar.

Delete the quests tab so that your game starts on your first object by doing the following:

  • from the menu bar, go: Settings>tabs>quests>delete (scroll to bottom).

Post any specific questions to cbrumwell on the Activity 3 page on the Wordpress site.

  • Post the title of your game and a brief description as a comment under "comment section" (not "comment review") on the Activity 3 page of the 522 Wordpress site as a "comment review" (not "review section").

    • click here to go to the Activity 3 page of the 522 Wordpress site

  • Play test a minimum of one other classmate's game by searching it by name on the ARIS mobile app

  • Share your game creation experience with them.
